Dear One in the Waiting,
God sees you in the waiting. Patiently sitting there wondering what’s next. Impatiently pacing through the house waiting on a dream to come true. I’ve been there.
Waiting to finish college. Continuing the waiting as I worked my way through graduate school. Waiting to realize my calling as I worked my very first full-time job. Watching for God’s next plan on my life. Constantly looking ahead.
What if your waiting is the blessing? That future job you’re waiting – it’s preparing you for the future. The singleness in your life – giving you the opportunity to draw close to friends. That baby you’re waiting for – God’s teaching you to lean on Him.
Waiting is hard. But, recently, I realized those are the moments God wants you to hold onto Him. The moments He teaches you the most. God grows you during this time. Teaches you patience. If you live in the waiting, you will always be there. You will get that job, but begin waiting for the next job. That spouse will come, then you will be waiting on a child. The child will come and you will be waiting on grandchildren.
Life is a cycle of waiting. God wants you to live the moment. Embrace the blessings He has given you. Know that He is holding you close. Preparing you for a great future. Most importantly, preparing you for a beautiful place – heaven. Live in the waiting. Don’t wallow in it. Joyfully serve and live life to the fullest. In these moments, you will find God.
